Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how FunnelCanary (“FunnelCanary,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit funnelcanary.com, request a scan, create an account, purchase a subscription, or use our monitoring service (collectively, the “Service”).
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
We collect information you submit, including your email address, funnel or website URLs, support messages, preferences, and any other information you choose to provide. When you sign in with Google, Google provides your verified account identifier, name, email address, and profile image. We do not receive your Google password.
Scan and monitoring information
We collect the public URLs you ask us to scan, scan dates and times, response and page signals, detected forms, links, prices, tracking tags, report findings, health scores, and monitoring history. Do not submit private credentials, confidential URLs, or URLs you are not authorized to test.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe may collect your name, email, billing address, payment method, tax information, and transaction details. FunnelCanary receives transaction and subscription records but does not receive or store full payment-card numbers.
Information collected automatically
Our servers and service providers may collect IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, dates and times, cookie or session identifiers, error data, and security logs. We use an essential signed session cookie to keep Google-authenticated users signed in.
2. Sources of information
We collect information directly from you, automatically from your browser or device, from the public websites you authorize us to scan, and from providers such as Google, Stripe, and AWeber.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide free scans and paid monitoring; authenticate accounts; save reports; run scheduled checks; process subscriptions and refunds; provide support and service notices; secure, debug, and improve the Service; prevent fraud or abuse; enforce our Terms; and comply with law. We may use aggregate or de-identified information for analytics and product improvement where permitted by law.
4. How we disclose information
We may disclose information to vendors that help us operate the Service, including Google for authentication, Stripe for payment processing, AWeber for email subscriptions and communications, and cloud hosting, analytics, and security providers; to professional advisers; when required by law or a valid legal process; to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service; or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets. Providers may use information only under their own terms and applicable data-protection obligations.
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If our practices change, we will update this policy and provide any legally required choices before doing so.
5. Public website scanning
FunnelCanary requests publicly accessible web pages with an identified automated user agent. A scan can incidentally process text, links, and other content published on those pages. You must only scan sites you own or are authorized to test. We do not intentionally bypass authentication, CAPTCHAs, access controls, or private-network protections.
6. Cookies, tracking, and Do Not Track
We use essential cookies for account sessions and limited measurement technologies needed to operate, secure, and understand the Service. On landing, opt-in, and post-payment pages, LaunchDock receives campaign identifiers (including ptc, clk, and rotator target IDs) and visit, opt-in, or sale events. A sale event includes the plan price but not payment-card details. FunnelCanary stores campaign identifiers in browser local storage and a first-party campaign cookie for up to 30 days so a conversion can be attributed to its traffic source. LaunchDock does not receive the subscriber’s email address through this pixel. Browser “Do Not Track” signals are not governed by a uniform industry standard, so the Service does not currently respond to them. We honor legally required opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, when applicable to our processing. Third parties such as Google, Stripe, AWeber, and LaunchDock may collect information when their authentication, checkout, subscription, or measurement interfaces load, subject to their own policies.
7. Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain account and monitoring history, complete transactions, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, meet legal and accounting obligations, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by the type and purpose of the information. We may retain de-identified data and information in routine backups until those backups are overwritten.
8. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or an explanation of our processing; to object to certain processing; to withdraw consent; and to appeal a denied request. You may also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising a privacy right. We do not sell personal information, so there is no sale from which to opt out.
Send requests to hey@funnelcanary.com. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted transport, restricted server access, signed session cookies, and payment processing by Stripe. No method of transmission, storage, or security is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International use
FunnelCanary and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries whose laws may differ from those where you live. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers.
11. Children
The Service is intended for business users age 18 or older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the Service or law changes. We will post the revised policy here, update the effective date, and provide additional notice when legally required. Questions and privacy requests may be sent to hey@funnelcanary.com.
